A completely new look Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will take the court tonight in its season opener against PCM. The Panthers lost their top three scorers from last season and usher in a new coach in Troy Pearson. A lot of question marks remain and a few may get answered tonight as the Panthers take on an athletic Mustangs squad. Pearson says he does not know what to expect from his team at the start of the season, but he does want to compete and play hard each game.
Pearson: “By the end of the season we want to compete with everyone on our schedule, and I know that may be coach speak, but here at first, we’re just trying to get familiar with each other and get better.”
The Mustangs are looking for a bit of revenge as the Panthers won at PCM last season, which was just the third time in the team’s last 15 Knoxville has pulled out the win. You can hear the action on 95.3 KNIA starting at 7:15 audio will also be provided on the KHS Activities You Tube Channel.
