The Simpson women’s basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend, falling on a buzzer beater layup to Wisconsin-Eau Claire 72-70, then taking down Wisconsin La-Crosse 70-56 to get back in the win column. Jenna Taylor scored 27 points in the losing effort, while Cameron Kincaid dropped 18 points to lead the team in the victory. The Storm are now 4-1, continue their Wisconsin road trip tonight taking on Wisconsin-Superior.
The Storm men took down Hannibal-LaGrange on a buzzer-beating shot by Lincoln Swanson 62-60 on Saturday, then picked up their second straight win over Northland 75-74. The Storm had to hold on to an early lead against Hannibal-LaGrange, then Swanson hit a jumper as time expired for the Storm to pick up the win, and then got 28 points from Andrew Curran and a double-double from Chris Honz in the win over Northland to improve to 3-3 on the season. They will next play Saturday in American Rivers Conference play at Coe.
