With the holiday season in full swing, local food shelves are helping to fulfill needs within their respective communities. Melcher-Dallas Food Pantry Director Dennis Tickle encourages those who are able to donate to do so, especially due to a low supply and uncertain economy.
“There’s always going to be a need. With the way the economy is going, I try to keep us stocked up, but we’re low right now. You never know when the economy will take a dip. Then there’s going to be a lot more needy people. We always strive to fulfill the needs of people.”
He says the pantry is especially in need of soaps and toiletries as they continue their mission to help people make ends meet. Donations can be dropped off at the food pantry or City Hall.
