Two girls basketball squads that had opposite results on their Tuesday games clash in an all-Marion County battle tonight in Bussey as Twin Cedars hosts Pleasantville. The Sabers lost to Wayne 52-to-34 on Tuesday while Pleasantville rolled over Twin Cedars rival Melcher-Dallas by 53 points. Twin Cedars Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team on Tuesday was able to keep up with Wayne until the second half when the Falcons went on a 15-to-four run to put the game away. The Trojans easily defeated Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday and look to sweep the two Marion County Bluegrass Conference Schools in one week. Coach Jeff Cook tells KNIA/KRLS Sports for his team to have success against the Sabers, they need to stop Twin Cedars’ Brooke Roby.
Cook: “It’s no secret that you have to take Roby out of the game, she’s a good player and they have other kids you have to respect, but you take her out of the game, that means the other kids have to step up and I hope we’re solid enough to do that and play well defensively.”
Tip off is scheduled for six.
