Five Knoxville High School band students have been selected to participate in this weekend’s Drake University Honor Band. Angelina DeSocio, Jessica Fuller, Jason Krasko, Caleb Murra, and Lily Yocum were selected. Director Meredith Tipping says it’s a great opportunity for her students to perform among some of those best high school musicians in central Iowa.

“They’ll get to work with guest conductors, and they’ll put on a concert Saturday night. I’m very excited for them to have that opportunity. It’s one of those things that’s back to normal, which is good for kids to get involved with again.”

The first rehearsals will be held today at Drake University, with the concert being held Saturday evening at the Harmon Fine Arts Center on the Drake campus.
