One of the busiest weekends in Pella each year has even more for residents and visitors to enjoy after an official ribbon cutting held Thursday morning on the Molengracht.
The Kerstmarkt Dutch Christmas Market is open through Saturday evening in conjunction with the Pella Christmas Tour of Homes and Sinterklaas celebrations, and Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jill Vandevoort says it’s a project six years in the making.
Vandevoort says there will be live entertainment held throughout the three days so shoppers can enjoy the holiday season while they visit several vendors selling one-of-a-kind handcrafted items.
On each day of Pella’s Dutch Christmas Market from 3-5 p.m., the Pella Community Services Art Center is hosting a make-and-take art program in the activity tent as well. There is also unique Christmas art on display, as well as enhanced decorations from the Spirit of Pella and City of Pella parks department.
