The Pella Wrestling team opened the 2021-22 season with a split in Des Moines Thursday.

The Dutch defeated Des Moines Hoover-North 69-6 and lost to Urbandale 52-25. Damion Clark (120) picked up a pair of wins by fall, Logan Schroeder (126) had wins by fall and major decision, and T.R. Putz (145) won by fall and by decision in his two matches.

Pella is in action at a dual tournament Saturday at Williamsburg.
