The Pella Christian girls basketball team will look for their first win streak of the 2021-2022 season tonight as they welcome Van Meter to Eagle Lane.

The Eagles come into tonight’s matchup having won in convincing fashion on Monday night with a 50-29 victory at PCM. The key for Pella Christian against Van Meter will be using their defense to create offense. The Eagles average 14 steals per game, which ranks 19th in Class 2A, and the Bulldogs average 14.5 turnovers per game. Pella Christian Head Coach Brad Engbers said that his team’s defense has been the catalyst for their scoring this season.

“Our defense is probably the best part of our game. We’re running a good zone defense, the girls are really putting pressure on the ball, and making our defense the trigger for our offense.”

Tonight’s showdown between Pella Christian and Van Meter can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS beginning with pregame coverage at 7 pm, followed by tip-off at 7:30 pm.
