The 2020-21 Pella Bowling team

The bowlers from Pella High School open the winter season of competition later today at home.

While a large number of returning varsity starters are back on the roster, they are under somewhat unusual circumstances as a group of coaches has stepped up to lead the program after a one-season departure for previous Head Coach Mike Mathewson due to a loss in his family.

Stephen Van Gorp is one of that trio made up of Volleyball Head Coach Mallory Peterson and High School Math Teacher Kaurie Marinkovic, and says their group of close to 60 athletes have helped keep the program afloat, with some lofty goals still on the table as well.

Pella opens the bowling season at 3:00 this afternoon at 200 Dutch Bowl and Grill vs. Centerville.
