Crisis Intervention Services is holding its annual holiday gift drive. The organization supports survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence throughout 12 counties in south central Iowa, including Marion, by providing advocacy and shelter services. Volunteer & Training Coordinator Pat Finan says the organization is seeking donations to help get their survivors back on their feet during the holidays.
“They need support in terms of brightening their holidays and giving them an opportunity to take some ownership and buy some gifts for their children. We’re looking for monetary donations, or if someone wants to buy a traditional gift, we can make that happen as well.”
The monetary donations will be used to purchase gift cards for the survivors, providing them the dignity that comes with personal shopping choices. Donations are preferred to be received by December 13th, but will be accepted throughout the holiday season.
