Work on solving supply chain issues continues in Washington, with many businesses facing issues of not having enough supply to meet demand, or able to deliver ordered items on time to customers. Congresswoman Cindy Axne tells KNIA News while the free market may eventually sort it out, she feels it is necessary to pass legislation to help, as there are transportation companies that are pricing consumers out of business.

“The market allowed them to not take our goods out of port, and that doesn’t help Americans. So in this case, we obviously are a capitalist society but we have to make sure that whatever we have in place actually allows us to get our goods out there. Right now, we have to put bills in place to address this issue, because right now the market is dictating costs that we just can’t absorb right now in this country to get our goods out the door.”
