The first winter storm of the season may have some impacts locally but will likely cause significant issues in northern Iowa.
Locally, a wintry mix remains possible with some freezing rain and light snow, especially in the evening and overnight hours. Gusty winds through Saturday afternoon could make any snow reduce visibility, even low totals.
Most difficulty will be encountered along and north of Highway 20 in Iowa earlier in the late morning and afternoon.
Much warmer conditions return to the region by Sunday with highs in the 50s and climbing, which will lead record highs potentially Wednesday.
