Customer Support Manager at Vermeer Corporation Gerry Van Dyke has been honored with the annual Bob Vermeer Spirit of Caring award.
It celebrates a culture of principles and putting people first and the team members who are practicing that culture beyond the Vermeer offices and factory floors.
“The impact our team members make on each other and their communities is truly special,” said Vermeer. “It’s very fulfilling to honor a team member who goes above and beyond in serving others.”
Gerry received the award for going the extra mile for his team members, customers and community. Year after year, he supports projects, including helping with housework and volunteer projects or rallying his team to win food drive competitions. Outside of work, he is active in the community– serving on the school board and attending events and activities throughout the year.
“I’m fortunate enough to get this award, but I feel like I’m really just a small piece of the overall caring and culture that goes on at Vermeer for our employees,” said Van Dyke.
As part of the award, Van Dyke chose to donate to three charities within his community:
– Lynnville Fire Department
– Lynnville Heart to Heart Food Pantry
– Lynnville-Sully Education Foundation, manufacturing scholarship
