The Indianola City Council approved a contract to hire a search firm for a city manager at their most recent meeting, beginning a months-long process of filling the position. Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the council chose GovHR to conduct the search, which will begin immediately.
“Now we are going to be in the process of working with GovHR, who will look at what the timelines may look like, and doing the process of starting to interview the current council and incoming council on what their thoughts for the position are. What’s going to happen is the recruiting firm will put together a brochure that they will then distribute to potential candidates for this job.”
Dissell said the process is hoped to be completed by May of 2022, but there is not a concrete timetable in place.
