Pella hits the road tonight to battle Fairfield in a non-conference basketball doubleheader.

The Dutch girls are 3-2 on the season after clawing past Norwalk last Friday night, 50-46.  In their previous four games, a pair of wins and a pair of losses, none of them were in doubt at any point in the fourth quarter.  That wasn’t the case on Friday, and first year head coach Blaine Forsythe said that it was a good growth step for his team to pick up a victory in a closely contested game.

“Being in those pressure situations and executing late in the game is going to be really big for us.  We’ve done it now and we continue to practice it a lot, and just being comfortable in close games and executing late is going to be good for these girls.”

Fairfield’s girls come in on a three game winning streak, and are 3-1 overall.  Meanwhile, the Trojan boys are 1-3 and will be taking on a Pella team that’s dropped to 2-2 after losing a pair of games last week to Washington and Norwalk.

Opening tip of the twinbill is set for 6:15 at Fairfield High School.  Trevor Castle and Brian Vande Lune will call the action on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame at 6:00.
