The Pella Community Food Shelf received a donation as part of the 20th annual KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio Food Drive. The non-profit received $2,000 from the 1st Radiothon and other events held this holiday season. Pella Food Shelf Director Melissa Zula says she’s thankful for the new effort to not only raise funds, but to educate the public about the need to support hunger at the local and state level. KNIA/KRLS staff will be participating in a special tip night at the Pella and Knoxville Hy-Vee stores on Monday, December 20th from 3-6 p.m., bagging groceries in exchange for additional donations to support area food shelves.
