The Norwalk wrestling team hosted its home opener Thursday, a triangular with Newton and Carlisle.

In the conference dual against Newton, the Warriors had little trouble in a 64-18 win. The Warriors got pins from Nathaniel Adams at 145, Dominic Tigner at 160, Caden Nunez at 170, and Grant Kimball at 182. The wins at 195, 220, 285, 120, 126 and 132 came by forfeit.

Norwalk returns to action Saturday for an invitational at Pella.

In action today are both basketball teams, as they resume Little Hawkeye Conference play at Oskaloosa. The Warrior girls look to build upon a win Tuesday over Lewis Central, but will have a tall task against an Indians team off to a 5-1 start. Norwalk has won five straight in the series.

The Norwalk boys have won three straight, and have been playing some of their best ball of the season as of late. They’ll have the task of holding off an Oskaloosa team that has stumbled to an 0-4 start. The girls game tips off at 6:15 inside the Oskaloosa High School gymnasium.
