The Norwalk basketball teams returned to conference play Friday, traveling to Oskaloosa. It was all Warriors, as the teams earned a sweep. The Norwalk girls pulled away late for a 55-37 win, while the boys easily won 74-49.
It was a tightly contested affair in the first half of the girls game, as Norwalk held onto a 23-19 halftime lead. But the Warriors pulled away in the fourth for a 55-37 win. Head Coach Jill Martin says her team earned the reward of sticking to a gameplan the entire way.
Norwalk moves to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The boys game was all Norwalk, as the Warriors stormed out to a 21-9 lead after one. By the end of the third, the Warriors led 53-32, and the varsity reserves came in to help close out a 74-49 win. Braedon Carlson led the way with 22 points while Redek Born had 17. Norwalk moves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Both teams return to action January 3rd at Van Meter.
