Pella wrestlers are hosting a mix of small-school and big-school competition in the first invitational of the winter season. The Bill Van Horn Memorial Tournament is today, with the Dutch hosting Benton, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, North Mahaska, Norwalk, Oskaloosa, and South Tama.

Pella Wrestlers Logan Schroeder, T.R. Putz, and Ty Halverson look forward to the first invitational style matches of the year and see an opportunity to work on improving themselves in their final matches against other opponents until 2022.

The Pella Dutch home wrestling tournament has been named after Bill Van Horn for many years, a former Pella administrator inducted into Iowa Athletic Director Hall of Fame, and who passed away due to liver disease and cancer in 2012.

Matches at the Dutch home invitational begin at 10 a.m. at Pella High School and can be watched on the Pella Dutch Live YouTube channel.
