It was a sweep for Twin Cedars Basketball Squads of their arch-rivals from Melcher-Dallas on Friday night as the girls took the win 63-29 while the boys prevailed 59-48. The girls got a career high 29 points from Cheyanne Bruns on seven, three point makes to lead the way. Even with foul trouble, Kisha Reed managed to pull down nine rebounds. The Saints girls were led by Kamryn Hendrickson with nine points and 11 rebounds while the boys got 19 points from Owen Suntken. On the boys side, Devin Arkema erupted for 35 points, also a career high in a 59-48 win. Kail Arkema had 13 points and Dallas Clarke added ten to out three Sabers in double figures. Melcher-Dallas got 19 points from Owen Suntken. The Twin Cedars girls are 7-2 on the season while the boys are 2-4…the Sabers will take on Lamoni on Tuesday with the girls playing for sole possession of first place in the Bluegrass Conference. The Melcher-Dallas girls are now 1-7 on the season while the boys fall to 0-7. Both squads will play Seymour on Tuesday.
