Marion County Facilities & Maintenance Director Chris Nesteby shared a VA campus demolition update at Tuesday’s Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting. He says that great progress continues to be made, with most of the buildings being taken down.
“Things are going really well. We’re down to five major structures on the north side, which means we’ve taken down 23 major structures. We started on 102 Monday, which is the farthest southeast corner. We’re running into new and exciting things every day. But as a whole, things are progressing quite well.”
Nesteby also shared that Confluence, the development firm selected for the project, will soon present property values based on comparisons to similar properties throughout the Midwest and Iowa. That step is expected to come in early 2022.
