The Eagles boys basketball team begins a busy week tonight as they welcome Pekin to Eagle Lane.

Pella Christian is coming off a wire-to-wire 63-42 victory against Grinnell on Friday night that saw three Eagles score in double figures. The Eagles are hoping to be back at full strength tonight against Pekin, as four players including their two primary point guards missed the Grinnell game due to illness. With the recent illnesses and finals starting this week, Eagles Head Coach J.D. Boer said his team will try to maintain focus despite the other factors.

“Obviously our focus right now is to get healthy to be honest with you, and this weekend we’ll take a look at what Pekin’s got and make sure we’re ready to go for that one. Our guys have final exams too, so that’s a big deal for them too so, that’s a big deal for them. They’ve got to hit the books. So, that’s kind of what we’re looking at is finding a way to pump the fluids, make sure we’re getting some rest, try to be as healthy as we can be for next week which is obviously a big week with two games and then final exams on top of that.”

Tonight’s game between Pella Christian and Pekin can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS beginning with pregame coverage at 7pm, with tip-off slated for 7:30pm.
