Warren County Public Health is asking residents to not only be aware of the risks of COVID-19, but to also take care when with others as it continues to be cold and flu season this time of year as well. Director Jodene DeVault tells KNIA News Warren County is doing well, but just because you may not have COVID-19 doesn’t mean you can’t be sick and pass on illnesses.
“A lot of people who are sniffling or having symptoms of COVID-19, and a lot of people are getting tested and they are negative and are still sick from a virus. However we do have a positivity rate that is slightly above the state rate of COVID-19, and we encourage those out there to get vaccinated. There is a lot of information out there that is not true about the vaccination, but overall we are doing as good as expected.”
DeVault also said the county’s flu numbers are pretty low now, but it will be higher than last year due to all the mitigation efforts last year for COVID-19.
