A local photographer is showcasing his skills in documenting a big event in Marion County. Mike Cox of Knoxville has done photography for many years as a hobby, and recently bought a drone to expand his possibilities. He recently took nighttime aerial shots of the Merry-N-County Christmas light display at Marion County Park as part of his work. He says this new venture combines his two passions.

“I grew up with photography, it’s always been a passion of mine. I love taking pictures of just about everything. I feel like my drone work is a combination of a couple of my hobbies, as I love aviation as well. Flying the drone combines my love of aviation with my love of photography. It was in me when I was born. I love it and continue to do it, and I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and skills.”
