The winter sports squads at Knoxville High School are currently taking a break from game action for the next week or so to celebrate Christmas and New Years. While they will get back into the gym and wrestling room during the break, games and meets will wait until January. So far the Panther Basketball Squads have gotten off to somewhat slower than normal starts. The girls ,without a standout scorer as they have had in the past several seasons, now have a balanced attack and are playing well defensively. The boys while young are making progress and Coach Troy Pearson is hoping that with the break they can keep working on the offensive flow. The wrestlers are off to a good start placing at least 2nd in all but one meet this season. The bowling squads, while young, are showing progress and Coach Shaun Renard hopes for continued progress in the New Year. The basketball squads will get back to action on January 4th in Centerville, the wrestlers take to the mats against Albia at a quad on January 6th, and the bowlers get back to the lanes on January 8th against Sigourney.
