Currently standing at 3-3 in West Central Conference play, Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball squad will have a tough task playing conference opponents in 2022.
The Trojans will have ten conference games in 2022, with five of them at home and five on the road. Pleasantville will resume play with six of their first seven games against conference opponents. It will begin January 4 at Panorama, which will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com. Following that, the Trojans will have a rematch of last year’s first-round playoff game with Colfax-Mingo. After that matchup Pleasantville will have five straight conference games against Interstate-35, Earlham, West Central Valley, Van Meter, and Des Moines Christian. Coach Tom Wilkins tells KNIA Sports that he sees the potential in his team, it just needs to come together.
“Well, we have potential. At times, we play really well. At Ogden we came out and shot the ball extremely well. Against Des Moines Christian we didn’t shoot it so well. Against Madrid early in the year we didn’t shoot it well but we played well defensively. Didn’t play well defensively against Des Moines Christian. We got all the pieces, we just gotta get them all together working at the same time.”
Pleasantville will resume play on January 4, 2022, as part of a girls/boys home West Central Conference doubleheader against Panorama that will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
