Progress continues at Knoxville’s housing districts.

At the East Village, the former site of East Elementary, a second structure remains under construction, while the exterior of the first house nears completion. In the spring, 11 more units will be built.

The site of a new Kading Properties development near Walmart has not seen any new construction, but groundwork continues. 155 market rate rental units are expected to open in this location in fall 2022.

The VA campus demolition project is leading the way for another housing district. Property value assessments will precede the acquisition of land for this development. The assessments will begin in early 2022, with demolition expected to be complete by summer.
