While Mason Scheve continues to showcase his stardom on the court, Pleasantville’s basketball squad is still looking for a second scorer to ride along with Scheve.
The Trojans currently sit at 4-3 on the season with a 3-3 record in West Central Conference play, thanks primarily to Scheve averaging 25 points per game through the first seven games. Pleasantville’s second leading scorer is Andrew Pender, who is averaging just over 9.5 points and five rebounds per game. Right behind Pender is Dayson Leerhoff, who is averaging nine points and nine rebounds a game. Both Pender and Leerhoff have shown flashes of great play in the first half of the season, but one of them will have to truly be the sidekick to Scheve in order for Pleasantville to make a push in 2022.
The first game of the 2022 calendar year for the Trojans is January 4, part of a girls/boys home West Central Conference doubleheader with Panorama.
