With little to no games canceled or postponed due to COVID-19, the Indianola Activities Department is proud of the way all the student athletes, staff, and parents handled all the safety plans and recommendations for COVID-19 during the year of 2021. Activities Director Lee Nelson tells KNIA News everyone had to adapt to new policies, and most things went as clean and easy as possible.

“When I look back, I just look back at how much we had to adapt to those things and how we became used to those adaptations. Now we seem to be back to the way we were operating before. Maybe everything isn’t exactly the same, but just dealing with those changes and making the most out of it is what stands out to me.”

Nelson also said he appreciates the work of those behind the scenes on the events, whether the concessions workers or ticket collectors, they helped make things go smoothly.
