Now that Christmas is past and New Years is just ahead, many of our area basketball squads will be looking to start the New Year off with success. The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad is looking to get back to action in a few days at Centerville and have been using the break to improve on offense and continue to build on its defensive success. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it is difficult getting into the gym during the break and working around everyone’s schedule of family get-togethers. He says it has been more mental prep work during the break.
Ritchhart: “It’s hard this time of the year, and we’re hesitant to do anything on Sundays. I’ve been pleading with them to watch video of our opponents, and get those mental reps in. We’ll likely just get in the gym and do some free shooting here and there.”
The Panthers will travel to Centerville on Tuesday when they get back to game action. That game can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA.
