Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, and Saturday is New Year’s Day. Since the holiday falls on a Saturday, many offices and businesses will recognize the holiday Friday.

All government offices will be closed, including departments in courthouses and city halls. The Knoxville Library will close at 1:00 p.m. Friday and will be closed Saturday. Most financial institutions and many retailers also close to recognize the holiday. Anyone needing to do business at these locations should plan to do so today or Monday.
