The Knoxville High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductions will take place this Friday at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame with a luncheon at noon and a ceremony in between the girls and boys basketball games with Albia on Friday night. Hall of Fame committee member Joe Cunningham tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it is great to have a ceremony this year, as last year’s inductions were cancelled due to COVID-19.

Cunningham: “We and the committee are very excited and it’s a highlight for all Panther fans, and we took last year off due to COVID and protocols and we’re very excited to have this back.”

Tickets are available for $20 by contacting Cunningham at Cunningham Financial Services in Knoxville. This year’s class includes Doug Wilson class of 1960, Curt Froyen, head volleyball coach, Kevin Wadle class of 1989 and the 2002 state championship baseball squad. Induction ceremonies in between the girls and boys basketball games will be aired live on 95.3 KNIA this Friday.
