2022 for PCM’s boys’ basketball squad begins Monday night as they travel west on Interstate-80 to take on Earlham.
The Mustangs come into 2022 with a 5-6 record and a 3-3 record in Heart of Iowa Conference play. PCM ended 2021 with a loss to Roland-Story at home, snapping a three-game winning streak. The Mustangs are 2-3 in non-conference action, with their two wins coming over Knoxville and East Marshall. PCM lost to non-conference foes Montezuma, Pella Christian, and North Mahaska. Coach Fred Lorensen tells KRLS Sports that he will be paying attention to Earlham’s versatility defensively.
“Well, they have a nice team. It looks like they do a mixture of things on the defensive side. We have seen them play man-to-man and we have seen them play some zone. They got a couple of taller kids that are good inside, they got some good shooters and some good ball-handlers, so they will be a challenge for us.”
The matchup at Earlham High School will begin at 7:30 PM.
