The first major snow fall of the winter season impacted the region Saturday.
Most of Marion County received 5-8″ of snow, including 5 1/2″ at both KNIA/KRLS studios in Pella and Knoxville. Higher amounts were recorded by listeners, especially south of those two communities. Most of Warren County received an estimated five inches of snow.
Bitter cold is greeting the region this morning, with wind chill values as cold as 25 below zero. A brief warmup is expected Monday and Tuesday, which may help with clearing this weekend’s snow, before bitter cold returns again Wednesday and Thursday.
