Twin Cedars is the final basketball squads to get back to action tonight as the Sabers host Tri-County. The girls come in at 7-3 on the season and have been stewing on a loss to Lamoni back in December. Twin Cedars is facing a team that has not scored 40 points in any game this season and twice has been held to less than 20 going 2-7 overall. With all of that, Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Tri-County does play in a bigger conference.
Dunkin: “They play in a tough conference, with North Mahaska, Montezuma, and Lynnville-Sully and they’re going to want to get a win against a Bluegrass Conference team, so we’ll have to be ready to play them. I think they play better than their record indicates.”
The Saber boys will take on a team that has given up over 69 points per game with a high of 101 against North Mahaska on December 17th. Coach Brad McWilliams hopes his team’s shooting improves which could lead to improvement in the areas. The girls game is set to begin at 6:00.
