The Chief of Police for Prairie City has died. According to a release issued today, Michael German passed away due to complications from COVID-19. German has served the citizens of Prairie City since 2014, and has previously worked with the Monroe Police Department and others in central Iowa. His death is being considered in the line of duty by the department.
