Tuesday night, the Melcher-Dallas girls Basketball Squad got likely their biggest win so far this season in a 51-41 victory over Murray. What made this win so big was much of what Coach Kelsey Goff and the rest of the coaching staff had been drilling into the team finally paid off. Goff tells KNIA Sports after a 3rd quarter that let Murray back into the game her team was able to gather themselves and complete the win.
Goff: “That 4th quarter they did what they needed to do, we got stops and made shots. When they started fouling us we made our foul shots and Kamryn Hendrickson even made a couple of free throws to get the win.”
Unfortunately for the Saints, they will have to wait to see if they can build off that Tuesday victory due to the snow storm Melcher-Dallas’s game with Moulton-Udell last night was called off as have the Saints’ contest at Colo-NESCO. Goff says they will try to reschedule both games, but it may be tough with few dates to choose from and added games for the Bluegrass Conference Tournament.
