Even with back-to-back wins, the Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad and the coaching staff through the winter storm came at a good time to give their team a small break. Coach Kelsey Goff has been dealing with low numbers this season so many of her varsity players also play JV and she tells KNIA Sports with the two games this past weekend being called off and the busy schedule ahead with the regular season and upcoming Bluegrass Conference Tournament, a small break was likely needed.
Goff: “Some of those girls play a lot with our numbers being down. With the rest of the season and the Bluegrass Conference Tournament there’s still a lot of games sto be played.”
The Saints could have as many as four games this week starting Monday with Moulton-Udell, a game that was supposed to be played Friday but was snowed out. The Bluegrass Conference Tournament is set to begin on Saturday.
