The #5 Storm women went through the same formula that they have for nearly every game this season, taking a 26-20 lead in first quarter before demolishing the Spartans in the second quarter, outscoring Dubuque with a school record 41 points and giving up only 10 and taking a 67-30 lead into halftime. Simpson then continued to pour it on in the second half as they salted away the win, and walk away with a 57.1% shooting day from beyond the arc. Cameron Kincaid had a career day, scoring 26 points that included going 13-13 from the line.
The Storm men were unable to keep up with the defending conference champions, falling behind 36-28 at halftime, then seeing the lead stay in the double digits throughout the second half which continued to grow as the Storm got cold from the field leading to the final deficit. Chris Honz led the Storm with 10 points.
The Storm women are now 14-1 on the season and 6-0 in conference play, while the men are now 4-10 and 1-4. Both teams next play rival Central on Wednesday at home.
