The Marion County Board of Supervisors heard an update on the VA Campus demolition project on Tuesday. Marion County Facilities and Maintenance Director Chris Nesteby said most of the demolition work on the north side of the campus is nearing completion.
“The snow didn’t really slow us down much. As you can see most of the tree cutting is done at this point, especially on the north side. There’s a lot of brush piles, things that we’ll start tending to here in the next month or so. So really, it’s about the same old, same old. Buildings are still coming down, weather hasn’t slowed us down too much, so things are going really well.”
Nesteby added that demolition on the south end of the VA campus could begin in the next 30-45 days.
