The losing streak for PCM’s girls’ basketball squad was extended to five Monday night as the Mustangs lost to Nevada, 45-24.

The Mustangs’ need at point guard was glaring with both Paige Steenhoek and Evelyn Burkett out indefinitely with serious injuries. Addison Steenhoek led the team in scoring, knocking in seven points. Sophie Steenhoek was second on the team in scoring with five points. With the loss, PCM drops to 3-11 on the season and 3-5 in Heart of Iowa Conference play. In the two games PCM lost to Nevada, they were outscored 103-44.

The Mustangs will be back in action tonight in the first half of a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader at Saydel. The doubleheader begins at Saydel High School with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:00 PM.
