The Indianola City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening. The council received a presentation from Acting Indianola Police Chief Brian Sher regarding the purchase of body cameras for the department, approved a rezoning request, and payment for the Streetscape Project.
The board also approved an amendment to city code regarding appointments to boards and commissions, and appointed Jane Whalen to serve on the Board of Adjustment, denied the appointment of Scott Duncan to the Human Relations Commission in a 4-2 vote, appointed Deb White to the IMU Board of Trustees in a 4-2 vote, and appointed Sarah Ritchie to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The board also approved an amendment to the code of ordinances regarding sanitary disposal in the city giving city staff more flexibility to enforce the code, and approved temporary road closures for the 2022 construction program. After the meeting concluded, the board also held a study session regarding the Square Reconstruction Project.
