The Knoxville City Council approved the inclusion of a splash pad into the design plans for Veteran’s Park at the old VA. The council had considered several locations for the splash pad for seven years prior to the resolution at Monday’s city council meeting. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery tells KNIA/KRLS News more about the splash pad.

“It will be an urban design of a splash pad, and so we’re really excited to be able to add that amenity to Knoxville because we know that the community has been asking for that for several years, so we’re pretty excited about a new park and a great amenity for our citizens.

The first phase of construction of the park is set to begin in July 2022.
