PCM’s girls’ basketball squad got back-to-back wins for the second time this season with a win over Albia, while the Mustangs’ wrestling squad will compete in the Heart of Iowa Conference tournament tonight.
The Mustangs’ girls got their fifth win of the season, knocking off the Blue Demons, 45-29. PCM got off to a hot start in the first half, knocking in 31 points and never looked back. A bright spot for PCM was that Paige Steenhoek returned to the lineup and knocked in two three-pointers off the bench. Addison Steenhoek led the way in scoring for PCM, scoring 19 points, with 15 coming in the first half. The Mustangs as a team knocked down seven shots from downtown overall. The win puts PCM at 5-11 on the season.
The Mustangs will be back in action Monday night for another non-conference showdown at Newton.
The Mustangs’ wrestling squad will travel to Nevada for the Heart of Iowa Conference Tournament tonight. This will be the second time PCM will compete at Nevada this season. The last time PCM was at Nevada was back on December 10th, when they split a double dual with the host and West Marshall. The Mustangs have had duals with every Heart of Iowa Conference opponent, and are 3-4 in their dual matchups.
The Heart of Iowa Conference Wrestling Tournament at Nevada gets underway tonight at 5:00 PM.
