The Melcher-Dallas Elementary School is at the halfway point of a two-week Read-a-Thon fundraiser. The purpose of the Read-a-Thon is for students to read for as many minutes as possible from January 17th-January 31st. The fundraiser will raise money for the PTO to help fund the needs of teachers, field trips, and purchase needed supplies for the school. Melcher Dallas 6th grader Ashlyn Stegman tells KNIA/KRLS News how the Read-a-Thon is benefitting the students.
“The Read-a-Thon teaches us that, if you’re not into books that much, that once you start reading for the Read-a-Thon you’ll see how fun books are and how much you can learn. Then kids, like us, will start to do it more.”
The students at Melcher-Dallas would like to thank everyone for their support of the Read-a-Thon. To donate to the Melcher-Dallas Read-a-Thon Fundraiser click on this link.
