Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball squad came out on the wrong end of a non-conference showdown with Clarke, while the wrestling squad will have their final home meet of the season tonight.
The Trojans’ boys’ basketball squad dropped their third straight game, losing to Clarke 80-71. Pleasantville had a difficult time getting any rhythm going on either side of the ball, as the two teams combined to commit 45 fouls and shoot a total of 63 free throws. Mason Scheve, who broke the 1,000 point mark last week at Des Moines Christian, topped 30 points for the third time this season with 31. Dayson Leerhoff continues to show promise down low as he finished with a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double. With the loss, Pleasantville drops back down to .500 as they currently sit at 7-7.
Pleasantville will be back in action tonight for the second half of a road non-conference doubleheader with Chariton. The doubleheader begins with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:15 PM.
The Trojans’ wrestling squad will have their final home meet of the season, a triangular with Colfax-Mingo and Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas. Pleasantville is coming off going 2-1 in a road quadrangular at Davis County, beating the host and Central Decatur. This will also be the final triangular of the season for Pleasantville, as they will have one more quadrangular and one more tournament before postseason play begins.
The triangular at Pleasantville High School gets underway at 5:30 PM.
