Another round of bitter cold starts today, with a roller-coaster of temperatures and a warming trend returning to the region.
Wind chills as cold as 20 below zero are expected through noon today, before more mild conditions return by the late afternoon. Temperatures are expected to warm overnight and climb toward the freezing mark Thursday, only to dip back down again Friday to near zero in the morning, before more steady temperatures return in the 30s are in place by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
