PCM’s basketball squads came away with a big doubleheader sweep over Greene County, which was broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com Tuesday night.

The Mustangs’ girls got their third win in four games, defeating the Rams 47-34. PCM got the victory thanks to defensive intensity and timely shooting. Emily Foster led the way for PCM, scoring 15 points, including a buzzer-beating three right before halftime. Addison and Paige Steenhoek tied for second on the team in scoring, chipping in ten points apiece. With the win, PCM goes to 6-12 on the season including 5-5 in Heart of Iowa Conference play.

The Mustangs’ boys put forth their highest-scoring output of the season, dominating Greene County 80-42. PCM’s 80 points eclipsed the 77 they put up on Knoxville back on opening night. Durant Van Dyke set a career-high in points, scoring 28 while hauling down 14 rebounds. The highlight of the night for Van Dyke was an exclamation-point dunk that capped off a phenomenal performance.

Carson Vandelune knocked down two three-pointers and had 18 while Matt Rosonke scored 15 while knocking down all nine of his free throws. PCM now stands at 9-7 on the season and 6-3 in Heart of Iowa Conference play.

Both teams will be back in action for another Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader Friday night at Perry.
