Pleasantville’s basketball squads came away with a doubleheader split at Chariton, while the wrestling squads came away with a sweep in their home triangular.
The Trojans’ girls’ basketball squad suffered their third straight loss, losing to the Chargers 44-37. Malorie McKinney led the team in scoring with 11 points. In addition, McKinney broke the school record for most career blocks with 149. Joelle Johnson and Adi Adreon tied for second on the team in scoring with eight. With the loss, Pleasantville drops to 9-8 on the season.
The Trojans’ boys’ basketball squad broke their three-game losing streak with a dominating 76-36 win over Chariton. A personal best was set Tuesday night as Mason Scheve set a new career high with 36 points, eclipsing the 35 he had earlier this season at Van Meter. Dayson Leerhoff had another double-double, scoring 19 points while hauling down ten rebounds. Pleasantville’s record improves to 8-7.
Both squads will be back in action for a West Central Conference home doubleheader Friday night against Woodward-Granger.
The Trojans’ wrestling squad swept their final triangular of the season. The night started with Pleasantville dominating Colfax-Mingo 65-24. The Trojans had a total of seven wins by fall and three by forfeit. The night was capped off with Pleasantville emerging victorious over Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas 66-18. Pleasantville had nine wins by fall and two by forfeit in the match. Pleasantville’s dual record now stands at 15-5.
Pleasantville will have their final quadrangular of the season Thursday night at Panorama.
