The Knoxville Bowling Squad hosts Creston today while the wrestling squad will head to North Polk for a quad meet. The wrestlers will head to Alleman to battle the host Comets, Winterset and Denison. The Panthers have had a solid season in dual meets going 10-3 and are coming off a 7th place finish at the I-35 Invitational on Saturday. First bouts are scheduled for 5:30. Meanwhile, the Panther Bowling Squads will host Creston at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa today. Coach Shaun Renard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports one of the most important things he has been stressing this season is the mental part of the game and staying positive even when things are not going their way.
Renard: “When they stay in a fairly positive attitude and when they grab a ball they have an opportunity to improve or shoot a better ball then the last shot, and as long as they keep that frame of mind they’ll be OK.”
Renard adds his players have, for the most part, have stayed positive even when times have been tough during meets.
